Update:Deported, Its about Time!

The activist that was deported after spending a year in a church to avoid deportation went to the Mexican Congress to get support.  She now says the U.S. broke the law by allowing her to break the law by coming to the country.  She blames the U.S. for not stopping her at the border.  Wouldn't be nice if we could all use that legal argument.  "No one stopped me from breaking into the house and stealing everything, the homeowner broke the law because he did not stop me."  This is just crazy what are your thoughts?

Her argument is so stupid it doesn't even rate me reading about it on the news! LOL I am glad she was deported and she stay out of the country forever!!

Yes, but I know I will hear someone complaining that she was cheated out of an opportunity to hear her case. What part of illegal do they not understand?

This doesnt surprize me, she is not accepting responsiblity for her wrong doings. She thought, once I get to the US, I will get knocked up, have a kid who will now be a US citizen, and she would get to stay as well. Ha Ha, the jokes on her, I think they should deport her and the kid. Our laws need to be less attractive, so do away with having a child here and it is already a citizen. Send the kids back as well.

I don't think we have any border guards at Mexican border; Channel 7 news ABC did an expose and found no guard at New York/Canada border. Bush has slashed the government to pieces for his get rich tax buddies, Got news people this country is not secure!!

I live in Chicago where this woman absolutely gamed the system here. I'm glad she's gone, but I'm sure she'll be back like a bad Mexican meal (pun intended). I just hate to see any church step in and help these folks break the law.

I did not get to see her statement before the Mexican Congress, but if she did make comments to this affect, she and her followers and extremely crazy. This woman is the very reason of why illegal immigration is such a hot topic. She is not a contributor but a taker. With someone like her out in the forefront as a representation of illegal immigrants and their struggle, it simply creates a false perception of what and who illegal immigrants are.

She is right, we should have stopped her.
But using the "shoulda" logic she employs - she should never have crossed the border because she knew it was illegal.

Elvira's statement that "the United States" (she said "Los Estados Unidos") broke the law is wrong. Even if some people in the US government did look the other way
(ex. George Bush), this can't be defined as "the United States". The United States is much more than Bush or Kennedy or McCain.
I wouldn't say that the state of Florida broke the law if a state trooper saw me
speeding on the highway and didn't pursue me and pull me over. This lady has agenda
laden people coaching her all the way. Jo lo confirmo, Elvira !
