Where is the lady I knew?
She is now a shadow
of her former self.
Eyes the color
of clear blue pools
and hair the color of ginger.
She stood tall and proud
and cowered to no man
Climbing the hill of
higher learning
and pursuing dreams
that had yet to unfold
Life stepped in and a grandson
became a son.
Love was the right
choice to raise and
heal a child wounded
and scarred by the hands of another.
Love knocked on the door again,
then son had a father and
three became a family.
What happened along the way to
a new life?
Son, Mother, Father
When did his words start to sting her?
When did she lose her voice?
A woman whose spirit
is full of passion
should never be ignored.
She started to disappear
Silenced and belittled
Her voice grows quieter
as her pain grows worse by the day.
