Anyone know what Precious Moments are?

I just love the collectiables Precious Moments, I have a lot of them. I started out with doing my son's baby room in them. and now that hes 6  he could care less about his room but I still love the curtians and wallpaper.

This picture is of a drawing by Sam Butcher the creator of Precious moments. Just to give an example of one.

All of the P.M. (short for precious moments) have the same teardrop shaped eyes and that is my favorite part.

So does anyone else out there in the Gather world know anything about My beloved P.M. collectiables or maybe someone else who collects them?

 

If theres enough of us maybe I'll start a group so we can talk about the new P.M. items that come out every year, and show off our collections.

I did my oldest son's nursery in P.M. with a teddy bear sitting on a balloon. I had to sew toegther the panels from JoAnn FAbrics. I loved it. I have some, and just put them in a curio cabinet. Haven't collected them in a while. I like the WillowWood collection now.

my MIL has an extensive collection though the last I heard she was considering selling it as she didnt' have room to store it all.

I collect them too. I have several plates, plaques, dolls and hundreds of figurines! When I was pregnant with our first child, we did the nursery in Precious Moments, I LOVED that room!

I collected Precious Moments when I was younger but lost all of them in a flood in '94. I keep planning to start my collection over but haven't as of yet. :-( I just love them. They always look so sweet!

I have about 2 dozen, starting with the college graduate. Some are for very specific memories. While I don't collect them anymore, I'll keep those memories forever. No ebay for me :)

I don't collect them but I've always thought they were so adorable. We do have one of the Christmas movies that has a Precious Moments Angel.

Yeah I've seen the PM website and I really want to join the fan club, just never seem to heve the extra money. Oh and they have a wedding chaple up there, its where I want to get married but I live in GA so its a little bit of a drive, lol. I can always dream tho!

I have a TON of these. I'm telling you, boxes and boxes and boxes full. Do you, by any chance, have any suggestions on what to do with them? I'm trying to downsize. I got them throughout my childhood and have been collecting them with every birthday, Christmas, and Valentine's day throughout my entire life. I have hundreds. I want to move to Alaska and don't really have a place to store a lot of things. I love them, but I will never set them out on display again. Especially not all of them. I'm not sure where to sell them. Maybe eBay? If you have any better idea, please let me know!

Well you could pass them on to your children or nieces/nephews that way they stay in the family. Or you could take them to a antiques market and sell them to collectors.
