Jesus's Eyes

We enter this world with innocent eyes,
Then we are bombarded with all kinds of lies.
Our hearts turn to stone in so many cases,
Knowing that others have so many faces.
We grow up believing what we are taught,
The Wars our people won, when they were fought.
The world that seemed such a terrific place
Suddenly has a lot of egg on it's face.
Our lives go on in a perilous way,
Never knowing what lies day to day.
Then we are wooed back to where we started,
We only seek when we're downhearted.
We invite the Lord in with His salvation plan,
Trying now to walk with Him, hand in hand.
In reality He lives in our hearts,
For truly that's where salvation starts.
The more that we walk with Christ in His ways,
We notice the changes in us everyday.
People we cursed look so sorrowful now,
We no longer curse, or ever we shall.
The anger that flowed at a rapid pace,
Seems to be gone with peace in it's place.
Though Christ begins in the depths of our hearts,
He works through our body in each and every part.
We truly can't see through Satan's plots and lies,
'Till we see others through Jesus's eyes.
