Marge wanted people to post pictures of their messy offices to see who had the worst. She originally published an article earlier today with a picture of her office. I don't really have an office as I don't do computer work. I just play on my computer. So these are pictures of my computer room with my rationalizations for the mess.
Picture #1 shows my computer and lousy computer desk. The rollers that held the keyboard shelf split apart long ago so I have the keyboard up by the monitor. I have some of my Halloween stuffed animals on the tower. (My birthday is on Halloween, but you can skip the jokes. I've heard them all!) A couple pictures of my dad are on the desk, my indoor outdoor thermometer so I can report temps to William D, scratch paper and atlas conveniently on the floor along with my cat, Gussie. Some of my reference books for when I do Scattergories with Krissy. The old chair is from my dad's desk many years ago. I have his desk in my living room. There are some blue plastic dishes to the right of the computer tower. Those are mine from when I was little, about 50 years ago. I let my grandkids play with my non breakable toy dishes but have set these aside.
I LOVE the pink wallpaper. This originally was my daughter's room. We wallpapered it when she was very small. As an adult, she says she hated it! Pink is not her color!
Picture #2 shows the desk I got in 1964 as a high school graduation gift. The pictures in the collage are of my two four year old grandkids and it was in my mom's room when she was in assisted living. Note the maps on the floor from my recent trip. The piles of photo albums from previous trips are usually in a closet but I had them down to show to a friend. The little flowered thing in the right lower corner is one of those water features that you can plug in to try and be soothing. I need something more the size of Niagara Falls!
I will attempt to post picture #3 from the Gather archives of the little hutch my dad built about 50 years ago. It is on the wall behind me when I am sitting at the computer.
That essentially is my messy room and I think I should win Marge's contest.
