So.... the wallet was in the snack cupboard (inside the grocery bag the potato chips were in).
Credit card wasn't in the wallet - but once I realized that was able to go find it (pants pocket) right away.
My boss finally emailed me and agreed to change the courses I teach to another day so that I can take the courses I need (on Wednesdays) without losing more than half of my income for the Fall. With a compliment even.
And my baby brother is my most favourite brother in the whole wide world. He's paying for my baby to go do her placement. There are 9 spaces available for Fall.... if I'm looking at the right course. I think I'm looking at the right course. But so tired/stressed/whatever I am not entirely sure. I will check with kid & or the college tomorrow. I told him I would pay him back when I can. He says "no worries; don't stress about it"
Still need to come up with some $$ to help t'other kid re: housing (she had a deal with landlord - landlord emailed yesterday demanding the money they'd agreed she would get (last month's rent) when student loan came in Sept 1 instead. She - and I - do not have that $$ for Sept 1 - and we already know what hubby will say *sigh* Even though we lent her money for books at the start of a semester before, and she paid it back with no problem. *sigh*
I'm still hoping, though, that landlord will decide that tenants that can't pay (last month's rent; first month's is covered) until when they'd agreed on are better than an empty apartment. We sent her a response to her email basically saying sorry; don't have it - for now - will see what the outcome of that is.
If I can scrape it together to lend the old kid ...when she pays it back can apply it towards what I will owe my brother for the young 'un.
Seems like there might be solutions to all this angst after all. I am, at least, cautiously optimistic.

If landlord is already going back on her word - about both the rent, and about allowing kid to store some belongings in basement early in exchange for delay in moving in (it's not actually available on the first, apparently - which is a major pain), whining about having to repair windows, and suggesting that she is not willing to provide rent receipts (all of which were in the email kid received last night) ....she might be better off to keep looking.
Big, deep breaths and good night's sleep usually help figure things out. I'm still willing to come up there an sit on your hubby if necessary. I promise he won't get any of those big, deep breaths that way.
He really does need an attitude adjustment, I think :(
Things are so good between he & I most of the time - I hate it when this crap rears it's ugly head....
Keep the faith girlfriend!
I wanted you to know I looked at your picture or read your article and left you with a 10!!
Thanks for sharing!!

You may have pillows around in your office but perhaps I need to carry one with me. Remember I fell this spring and broke my arm.
Our daughter had trouble with her financial aid...they said she was in default on a student loan! She's still in school. These poor kids are going to be saddled with such enormous debts when they finish college. I pray our family will have enough funds to help them out when the time comes to pay them off. They don't expect it from us but it sure would be nice to surprise them with a check or two to help.
Flit, my thoughts have been with you the past few days. I hope you and your husband can figure the money thing out. It's too bad to have that come between you. Money sure does get messy sometimes doesn't it?
Good luck. I hope by tomorrow you will be Optimistic!
:)
