Sen. Chris Dodd has stood up to the lunatics in his own party by insisting that the one thing we do not need in America is impeachment proceding against President Bush.

Which lunatics is he standing up to? I haven't heard anyone calling for impeachment.

Actually, there are very few people in Congress, Democrats and Republicans, who want to pursue impeachment. They saw how destructive and counter-productive the effort was when the Republicans impeached Clinton. And no one really wants to have impeachment proceedings during the election campaign - neither side would come out looking very good (though it might stimulate a viable 3rd party candidacy).

As I have previously posted, Bruce Fein, the very conservative Republican, who wrote the first article of impeachment against Bill Clinton, has said that congress has a constitutional obligation to impeach both Cheney and Bush. He was on Bill Moyers' Journal a couple of weeks ago.

At least Chris Dodd is reasonable. He's working against the idiotic wishes of Dennis Kucinich, Maxine Waters, Keith Ellison, John Conyers, and John Murtha...........just to name a few of the nutjobs wanting impeachment. Even Conyers acknowledged that the Democrats in the House don't have anywhere near enough votes to make impeachment happen...............and even that support is waning lately. President Bush is getting stronger in the polls as the 'Impeach 'em all' crowd loses steam.

Any conservative worth his salt wouldn't go near a Bill Moyers indoctrination. If Fein was a true conservative, he'd have talked it through with William F. Buckley, or someone of equal status. Just the mere fact that he outed himself on Moyers' show tells you exactly what side of the fence he's really on.

Your comments are "ad hominem" logical fallacies. But if that's the best arguement you have, then I guess that's the best you have.

Bruce Fein has solid conservative credentials. The difference between him and other "so-called" conservatives, is his honesty - and his dedication to the Constitution. If he has any "political" motivation in this position, it is - as he says in the Moyers program - not wanting a future president (e.g., Clinton) to claim the powers that Bush and Cheney have claimed for the executive branch.
