Last year we came home to a broken patio table. I was going to try to get a peice of glass that would fit, ot even buy a new patio set, but really din't want to fo that, considering thisone was almost new, and there ws nothing wrong with the rest of it. Getting a peice of glass cut to fit is expensive too. So, I came up with the idea to make the table top! I had a lot of broken glass that I have saved up over the years, broken plates, cups, flower pots, etc. As well as left over tiles from different projects. I went to the hardware store and purchased a big peice of plywood. We took the table frame, and traced around the circle to get our shape. Then we cut the big circle out with the jigsaw.
I then put two coats of waterseal on the cut out circle. From there, I started to lay out my design.

After I had the various tiles, and broken glass layed out in a pattern I liked, I started the process of gluing them down with tile adhesive.

I waited 48 hours for the glue to dry, and began the very messy process of adding the grouyt. I choose a very dark grout, charcoal to be exzct, because the table is going to be outside, and I was thinking that the dirt wouldn't show up on an almost black grout.

Then I waited another 48 hours for the grout to dry, put a coat of grout sealer on it, and then all that was left to do was to attatch it to the table! I ended up using Extra Strength Liquid Nails, amd I clamped the table top onto the table frame! It turned out wonderfully, I think, and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be either!

I've always wanted to do a mosaic, and after seeing your post, I think I'm gonna give it a shot!
