I became aware of a power within me years ago and was enthralled. I used it to take myself from a devastating period of sadness and low self-esteem to a fulfilled life of prosperity and joy. However, somewhere along the way I forgot or neglected using this magnificent power, and my life went back to lack.

I allowed negative thoughts to transcend positive, and less than positive people entered my social circle. It happened so surreptitiously that I didn't notice it until I became laden with debt, living with a family member, and in poor health.

Depressed, I went to the self help section of the library where I found a motivational book that was written in the early 1900's. I glanced at it, "The Secret Power Within". I shrugged my shoulders and put it back on the shelf. I thought I needed something more current than a book written that long ago. Considering I had read many of the titles in that section, and none seemed to have helped, I moved onto another book area. There, a book titled, "The Secret Garden", stood out among the others.

I moved on to the cookbook section. "Secrets of Famous Chefs", or a title similar to that caught my eye. It seemed that in each section of the library a book with 'secret' in the title jumped into my line of vision. Coincidence or synchronicity?

An old metaphysical principal awakened in my mind. "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." I remember thinking, is 'the secret power within' my teacher?

I went back to the self help section, took the book off the shelf and felt an immediate stirring within. Reading that book changed my life. I keep it displayed on my desk to remind me to never again forget how to use the power within. I went back to a spiritual, metaphysical, life and almost overnight my life changed.
