Getting Soaky Wet

(For critique, please.)

It’d been pouring out there

For nearly an entire day.

I rode my scooter to stores near by;

I had my rain coat on;

But I still got soaky wet.

It finally shined a little.

I took off my rain coat.

In a little while,

It began to pour again.

I put my rain coat back,

But I already got soaky wet.

It’d been pouring out there for hours.

I walked to a convenience store

Just off the street.

I carried my big umbrella.

But I walked into the store soaky wet.

It began to shine.

I closed my umbrella.

In ten minutes,

It began to pour again.

I got home soaky wet.

So--

I got soaky wet whether it poured or it shined,

No matter what.

I know how that goes. I had the same thing happen to me with my scooter a lot last summer. Last winter my mom bought me some waterproof pants that easily fit over my jeans and can even be put on when I am already wearing boots. They work awesome for when it rains or is cold (it keeps my legs from being subject to the wind chill). Wearing those and my rain jacket the only part of me that sometimes gets soaked is my feet if I wear the wrong shoes and my hands as my gloves are not waterproof.

Hey Zoe, hope you are dry now. LOL I liked the poem, It'd ??? is a strange way of putting it , I like it, but it rolls off the tounge different. Have a sunny day, and stay dry LOL
