What a week, and what a day!
My father in law had steel rods placed in his spine on Monday, in an 8-hour surgery with complications. He is doing better now but it was hairy & scary for awhile there.
My mother is due to be discharged from the rehab facility tomorrow, if all goes as planned. They forgot to feed her lunch & dinner today! Guess they're ready for her to go. She was in there for therapy due to a recent stroke. The doctor said yesterday that we are lucky that with the massive amount of brain damage she sustained, that she is not sitting there staring off & drooling, unable to recognize us. Instead she is 90% her old self mentally but has a lot of work to go physically. Still, she is walking using a walker or 4-point cane. My brother, an R.N., flies in this weekend to help her adjust to life back at home and do more therapy with her, and Home Health is going to take over as well.
My father had prostate surgery today -- he had prostate cancer a few years back and needs periodic tweaking surgery for his prostate & bladder. So he feels pretty crappy tonight and isn't able to get Mom home on his own tomorrow. So my hubby will watch the kids for me and I'll spend half the day with my parents, getting her packed up & home.
And school starts on Monday. I think I still need to buy 4 of every size Ziploc bag ever made . . . .
Today's adventures included a 1/2 day of work, then off to buy school uniforms, try 4 different places til I found one that would cut a little girl's hair for back to school, visit Mom, call back and forth among family to plan this weekend's care for Mom and Dad . . . . all with 4 kids in tow. I'm t-i-r-e-d.
But now I'm home, and me and two of the kids are getting ready to watch the premiere of "High School Musical 2" on Disney Channel! Gotta go pop the popcorn! See ya later, Gather friends.

As a side note, my daughter is recording High School Musical 2 for later. Just as I was reading your getting ready to watch it she was telling me she was recording it! Funny moment for me.
