Mama would brush her daughter’s tendrils
as if she could fingerpaint the past away,
and her toddler would chocolate-smile and lick the brownie batter
while Mama’s haunted eyes never completely refocused.

Imploring, seductive, whisked away by thoughts
That pull it like the wind, sparks of life with no control
Of where they will fall out of the cobweb of dreams
Eh, really random. I don't do improvisation very well, generally. It was very fun, though! :) Thanks for sharing the idea.
