This book was recently picked by Oprah - so it zoomed to the top of the charts. I found the writing very inconsistent.
Although the information about his early life and his life with his family and starting out as an actor was very interesting, parts of those early sections of the book were written in an informal, chatty style. He'd ask the reader, "do you follow?" and other "interactive" ways of hooking in the reader.
Later in the book, where he becomes more philosophical, I found it to be less interesting (the subtitle of the book is the Spiritual Autobiography).
I am SURE that there was no ghost writer as he seemed to change styles based on the topic of each chapter - probably depending on how much he enjoyed each topic.
I think the book could've been shorter and would have benefited from better editing.
I recommend it for anyone who admires this actor. Just realize - he's not a writer.
