A World Without Good, Please!
I have a request for you, my sisters and brothers in the human family: Please, please, please stop revering good. It is a trap! It is the most powerful trap there is. If you want to be free to experience more joy, more peace, more harmony, and more authentic power than you ever knew possible, and you want that for all of humanity, then for Pete's sake (and yours), just let go of the notion of good! It is poison.
That may, indeed, sound like blasphemy to you, as you have been indoctrinated to revere good. You have been taught all your life to prefer good. You have been admonished to be good. You have been impassioned by your political and spiritual leaders to fight for good. You've been told if you don't take a stand for good, that evil will overcome the world! Even many of your contemporary spiritual teachers are cheering you on to "allow more good into your life."
But I simply must tell you that the idea of good is leading you down the primrose path to disempowerment and continued imprisonment in a world of pain and suffering.
Good is Not Real
"Good" is an opinion-a judgment. Good is nothing more than your ego-mind's assessment of something, based on its observations or programming. Good is not some sort of pronouncement by God-at least, not God, the Source. Good is purely manmade in origin. All the religious and political wars fought throughout human history, with all the lives lost and misery inflicted, have been fueled by someone's opinion of what is good, and what is good's counterpart: evil. One human being's idea of good is often another's idea of "evil." Good and evil are truly just ideas.
The concepts of "good" and "evil" are thought forms created by the limited aspect of the human mind, making determinations about things that it doesn't have a comprehensive-enough perception to be able to accurately make. Ironically, participating in judgment diminishes perception and wisdom, which ensures that human beings will never be proficient at judging.
Actually, even God is not proficient at judging! Indeed, God, the Source, does not judge at all. While there are natural laws in place, and built-in consequences for violating them, there is no judgment involved-no opinion handed down from on high. In fact, the first natural law given to humanity is that of "no judgment." Why? Because the Creator knew that judging would lead to big, big trouble.
The Concepts of Good and Evil Are Born
Remember the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden? They were living in Paradise, in total bliss and Oneness-no good, no evil, just pure beingness-until the event that caused their exile from Paradise. What was that seminal event? They disobeyed Divine Guidance, listened to the serpent, and "ate of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil." What is the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil? It is judgment. It is the practice of determining what is good and what is evil, and all the many permutations thereof.
When these archetypal first humans allowed themselves to be seduced into making this judgment, they activated duality, the creative matrix that supports forces in opposition. Duality is the flipside of Wholeness and harmony. What more primal forces in opposition are there than good and evil? At first, neither good nor evil had much power, because they were only concepts. But as the concepts were given energy by human beings continually making judgments to determine what was good and what was evil, they began to strengthen and the web of entrapment was spun. Today, good and evil have reached what would seem to be maximum polarity.
Talk about a consequence of violating a natural law! This violation has kept human beings trapped at lower vibrational frequency in the realm of pain and suffering for eons! You see, joy, ease, wisdom, peace and harmony-the hallmarks of Oneness-are high-frequency phenomena, but duality is a lower-frequency phenomenon. The key to moving higher in frequency is in transcending duality by giving up judgment and its concepts of good and bad. It is the hidden key out of the pain and suffering of duality.
Good is an Addiction, But There's a Remedy
I am completely aware that giving up an addiction to good (and bad) may be a challenge. It has been for me! So here is what I've been doing to wean myself over the last several years. I have become aware that what I perceive as good is merely my preference, so I am changing my language, both inner and outer, around it. Instead of saying, "Such and such is good," I substitute, "I like that" or "I definitely prefer that," or "that seems right to me" or "that doesn't seem right to me," with seem being the key word. I often preface my declarations with "in my opinion."
It's still a shade of judgment, but it's "judgment lite" compared to the pronouncement of absolutes that "That's good" and "That's bad" connote. It's the beginning of untying some of the threads in the web of conflicting energies that billions of human minds create with their absolute pronouncements of "good" and "evil." Imagine the difference if we all loosened up the web a bit by a shift in our thoughts and words around this!
The stance that removes energy from the harsh polarities created by the concept of good and evil is neutrality; is acceptance. Acceptance is an act of Love and is like neutral in the car. It is not condoning something; it is simply allowing it without resistance. The more you resist something, the more you empower it. Acceptance allows the Love within you to continue to flow. Judgment, on the other hand, stops the flow. So whether you're decreeing something to be good or to be evil, you are still diminishing the flow of Love through you, and that keeps you at lower frequency.
The Coin Always Has Two Sides
You know the great irony about being on the side of good? Good can't exist without evil, or "bad." As long as good exists, so will evil. They are duality-based conceptual and energy partners that require each other for their existence. When you add energy to one thought form, the other automatically receives a complementary amount of Life Force. So when you energize good with your thoughts, you are actually also energizing "bad." You can never sufficiently empower good to overcome or eradicate evil. In fact, the more intent you are on increasing and empowering good, the more you increase and empower evil!
This is an understanding that came to me at a time of highest attunement with Source Wisdom. I was shown that opting out of judging good and evil is the long-overlooked linchpin for authentic empowerment and the liberation of humanity from the realm of pain and suffering caused by polarized forces in conflict. All the pain on the planet can be traced back, not to evil itself, but to the conflicting energy currents of good clashing with evil.
So, I ask you to consider loosening the grip of judgment in your life by giving up "good," giving up "bad," and letting Love flow freely. Love is the way out of the trap.
Lots of love, light and laughter
God Bless You

To clearly see what is, is more than love, it moves us to a place where compassion can exist. (sidebar; what most westerners assume is compassion may very well be empathy, which is not compassion. Compassion is not easy and often requires action.)
choose what is good or bad for me.

He says, in modern words:
You've been taught an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, but I say don't resist evil.
If someone hits you, let him hit you twice.
If someone sues you in court to get your coat, give it to him and your cloak, too.
If someone forces you to go one mile, go two.
If someone asks you for something, give it to him. If he wants to borrow money, don't turn your back.
Now, it's clear that no one, Christian or otherwise, lives up to these injunctions. "Resist not evil," if carried out in real life, would lead to a society of forgiveness. Horrendous notion! If we went around forgiving everybody, either they'd completely take over and dominate us or they might forgive us in return. This second option, which Jesus perhaps had in mind, is so unthinkable that the first option is the only one society considers viable. To forgive, as we now view it, is to show weakness, and those who show weakness deserve what they get: Evil will overrun them.
The only fly in the ointment is that Jesus gave in to evil and is worshipped for it. This moral dilemma has vexed the world for centuries. Now that morality has reversed itself and punishing all evil-doers to the absolute maximum is the most Christian thing to do, we can all rest easy. Jesus's most radical ideas have been washed clean from our memories and our conscience.

In paradise Adam and Eve's hearts were pure until they disobeyed God and began to have knowledge of good and "evil", right or wrong, look at it any way you want.
Here is an example of how ludicrous your perceptions in thought are, example:
Gunman enters your home and you catch him. He points the gun at you, and you tell him you would prefer him not to point the gun at you and not shoot you. Do you believe your perceptions are really going to matter to him? It is the coldest of our hearts that evil does exist, which invades our thoughts and actions.
I certainly would not pass this article around. It is written in a deep meaningless mumble jumble and that is all it is. What was this person on when they wrote it?

Quite an interesting concept. It's been a guiding light for me when I start to become judgemental. I believe man is good or tries to be. He or she may slip and fall, but it's for them to find goodness not for us to judge them. Good article. Thanks.
This type of argument, where there are no absolute rights or wrongs, is warned about in the book of Revelation, and elsewhere in the New Testament, where it is stated that each man will do what is right in his own thinking...this in turn will lead to increased lack of respect for each other, and ultimately anarchy.
God has given us His guidelines on how to live a life worthy of Him, they are contained in the Ten Commandments in the Old Testament, and further espoused in the New Testament during Jesus time of ministry here among us. There is absolute Truth, and no amount of namby pamby reasonning by 'enlightened thinking' is going to change that.
2) there are cases of good -- being behavioral .. where you do your job, wash your clothes, take a shower, participate as a general good citizen.. which is probably best depicted by the look at what is bad or evil: robbing banks, shoplifting, stealing cars, driving recklessley and perhaps causing a wreck and injury to others.. so perhaps good is the absence of evil --but that's not really the case.
3) good is also a state of mind.. just as evil and bad are one too. if you think poorly of others, treat other poorly, think negative about the entire world, that's the energy you draw and that's what you get in return.. however if you do good, think good thoughts (whatever that is- things that are positive or make you smile. Heck right now a piece of good dark chocolate would make me smile).. there is a difference.
4) While there are those who debate the existence of God (Him/Her/It) and the dichotomy of good versus evil, can one really debate the existance of evil in the face of incidences of genocide, mass murder (since WW1, WWII and Vietnam, Cambodia, North Korea, and Armenia) and the terrorist attacks against the innocent (skipping the military involvement) versus those who actually provide help and sustenance in any way they can to those who are without food, shelter, medical attention in places like Darfur and other parts of Africa-- or the honor killings of women in the Middle East.
5) There truly is a good and an evil.. to question its existence allows the evil to flourish and the good to flounder..
however the general posit of that essay is one that says if you put forth positive energy.. then yes that is good -- there is a positive and a negative. I know that if you think that everything bad happens to you, then it will.
if you have faith that you can survive even the most torturous situations, you can.. ..
The interesting part is while working on my MA, one of my professors (who ultimately was on my committee) was a former priest who worked at the Vatican and who left the priesthood, married and had children. We had many long discussions over these same issues and he learned that I had seen both evil and the face of good (and God) and that I had survived because of the good that I believe is within all people-- if they just allow it to grow and flourish. Nourishing it helps. Ignoring it, it withers
As human beings, who have the capacity to understand their deeds and think through an action prior to it being performed, we have the ability to know when something we do adversely affects others. We have labeled these deeds as bad. It's just a word to describe our culture's views on such deeds. Likewise if we selflessly give of ourselves and create happiness in another's life, then these deeds are labeled "good."
In the end, if you were to strip the labels they would still remain deeds that either hurt or helped someone/something else. A rose by any other name...
Everything good in extremes can turn bad potentially.
Learning the difference between bad and evil is another story, i suppose.
However, Man had a conscience. This conscience is what should have guided both Eve and Adam to make the right decision whether to partake of the fruit or not.
There is nothing, but NOTHING wrong in doing or being "good". There is much wrong in trying to *force* what one thinks is "good" upon others. That is what so-called "do-gooders" have and are still trying to do. All the religious wars, the crusades, psychologists, those "educated" people that are opinionated and believe they have the right to force their opinions upon others of what is good or bad have done nothing but to cause grief and more trouble.
The Holy Word has some good advice. "Do not become inflamed at another persons argument."
It is still BETTER to practice,,,(yes it has to be praticed for those who didn't know) Good.
It really is good vs evil. For every two GOOD people, there seems to be twenty evil ones
messing it up for everybody
God is the ultimate judge. He will make it right in the end. Reality is that good and evil exsist. We as human kind have to make some judgements if we are to survive. However, the main judgement is in God's hands. I agree with Margaret & Jeze Richardson . This article seems to me to be another step toward the end times when man will be at his worst and everything chaos. Then the anti-christ will offer to fix everything and the people will believe him. In the end they pay the ultimate consequence for their actions.

right is now seen as wrong and wrong is seen as right, nothing is clear anymore,
and we do need guide lines, or we all will
do whatever we want, and no care who is hurt.
Good and Evil are guide lines to follow,
most of us live in the middle.
We need these words, the fruit is good until it
goes off, then it is bad.
