I've seen those books but never read them. I love that name Sookie. I can't remember where I first heard it but it was from tv when I was younger. This is gonna drive me nuts trying to figure out where I heard it. I might have to pick it up. I love vampire books. Sherrilyn Kenyon topped Anne Rice for me with her mythology folklore/vampires/shapeshifters/dark-hunters. Her series is pretty creative. This weekend I'm finally gonna read the latest one "Devil May Cry".

I'm actually really interested in picking up Sherrilyn Kenyon... Heard nothing but great things about that series... I also read Christine Feehan... Her Dark series is fab... There is also Jeanne Kaolgridis... She wrote a seires on vampires but there are some pretty explicit scenes in her books... She blew me away with The Burning Times... It's about a witch but still it's fantastic... I'm also thinking about picking up Kim Harrison... Her's are mainly about witches but there are vamps as well... I heard her first book was slow moving but the rest of the series is phenominal...

Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse series is excellent. She starts off with vampires, and as the series goes on, Sookie encounters all kinds of other weird (and sometimes sexy) creatures. There's a particularly hot werewolf named Alcide.

My other favorite in the supernatural romance genre is Kate Douglas (Wolf Tales). I haven't read too many others (except Anne Rice), but I can tell you that I don't like MaryJanice Davidson, or Linda Lael Miller's vampire series.

I read the Sookie/Bill book also ( if there is just one!) maybe more than one with these characters. I read the one where she first meets him, and her gran invites him to dinner.
I just finished Lara Adrian's Kiss of Midnight and Kiss of Crimson Great vampires in those two books with one coming out in Nov that I can't wait for!! Nancy

This series is sooo addictive and so is the new show on HBO. I can tell you there are 8 books so far for this series. I love sookie and her sense of humor.
