Adversity......how do you deal?

It's all in the attitude. If you come out of your adversity looking for how you grew rather than being a victim, you will be stronger and others will look at you with admiration. If you come out whining about how unlucky you are, people will soon tire of listening to you.

Your last paragraph shows that you look for growth. You're grateful for all experiences, even those that were hard. If life were always easy it would be boring and we would not grow. Happiness is often about overcoming hardship.

Adversity is difficult for everyone! I have suffered many adversities in my life and for me the way I was able to maintain my sanity was to remain positive. I strongly feel everything happens for a reason. I try to find the positive in all my adversities...you have to stay away from the negative. Perhaps you could write on a piece of paper the good on one side and the bad on another and see your results. You will be amazed on the results. You will be able to feel better to get it off your chest and let it dissolve from your mind and put it all to rest and start to move forward. Adversity is a growth throughout life!

I have dealt with a few adversities so far in my life, most currently, I am not working at the moment. I am currently job searching but I guess that a lot of people around me feel that I am not looking hard enough to their liking.

Personally I'm tired of the constant adversity (stress) in my life and could use a break -- enough is enough already :-)

I kind of have to go with marie on this one. I would welcome a big break from the daily adversities in my life. I do agree things make us stronger and I TRULY believe that EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON. I am just about as strong as I want to be though.

What is often frustrating is that "adversity" is also relative. I have been through some very trying times. When I feel life has dealt me a crappy hand, I take a step back and think of those who are facing much more hardship and pain than I am. However, it's still hard to listen to the sob story of someone facing what I see as trivial setbacks. I fight to avoid one-up-man-ship. This is one time I'd rather let "you" win! As far as dealing with it all, you just do. The alternative is not an option! I know the things you are going through each and every day and, yes, you are strong and able.

I think you have an incredible spirit!

I feel that I've finished this phase of my life (at least for now) I'm happy very happy :D

Yes I am and always have been a very strong person.
And I do think that there are lessons we are meant
to learn in the adversity we face.

Great article. You really got me thinking. I'll talk to 100 people about building a solid residual income online and get slapped in the face 99 times to find 1 who cares. It is kind of like that story in the Bible where Jesus leaves the 99 sheep to chase after the 1 who is astray. Stephen

Good thought provoking article. Adversity is meant to draw us closer to Jesus, not away from Him. Adversity causes us to draw n the strength of God, Who says He is sufficient in our weakness. Adversity reminds us we are but frail humans and need a Savior. Adversity helps us grow and changes our characters' to become more like Jesus'. Adversity is inevitable at some time in our lives. Jesus knew adversity and knew it well, why do we think we can get through life without it, when the Son of God did not. The Bible says to count it all joy when we go through various trials...if we know Jesus, we know it is never in vain. I don't know how anyone in this life can survive adversity, come out smelling like a rose, without having Jesus by their side to pick them up when they fall. John 3:16 & 17 I leave with you~
