Meds to my cats today

My poor kitties. I had to start giving them meds today. They did not like it at all. It was with an eyedropper.  One cat didn't fight too much, but the other acted as if I was the meanest person in the word.  She ran over to the other cat to sniff his mouth to make sure he got it too.  They are so cute and clever.  How do your cats, or pets react to meds?

My little Sissy is the only one I have had to give meds to and she was pretty good about it. I didn't care too much for having to give her the IV fluids though. I did it because I had to, but I wouldn't make a very good nurse.

Some cats are harder than others. Adriana, that is exactly what she acted like. I had to give her treats afterwards.

had a dog who I bribe with hambuger all the time it works with the pills,,
the dogs now no med just heart worm monthly and flea drop monthly no prob with them they just let me drop the pill in mouth,, flea stuff easy just right on the back

My husband just reaches down our dogs throat as far as he can and puts the medicine in. They don't mind. Now when it comes to clipping toenails then I better beware. They are not happy campers when the clippers come out.

I haven't had to give my cat any meds since we first got him...knock on wood!

The trick to giving a cat a pill is to pop it in their mouth and blow on their nose with one burst of air. They instinctually close their eyes and swallow. I struggled with a pill popper from the vet's office until I learned this neat trick.

Meds (if I can afford them for my outdoor strays) is never taken willingly! I have been having trouble with the kittens getting some sort of eye infection! Have you ever heard of that?? Can I get them meds without a visit to the vet? I already have a vet bill. My indoor kitty is very well taken care of, but my 13 yr. kitty that passed on last year required some medicaL attention that I am still paying for!! I see I have at last found another cat lover like myself!SmileyCentral.com

I love all animals, especially cats. Vet bills are horrible I know. I put it on the charge. I don't like to buy over the counter things, as sometimes that is worse. Perhaps you can go to the humane society. They usually charge alot less for things.

Not very well. We had a bad bout with ear mites last year, and they were terrible about it. Made me feel terrible, too.

Our orange tabby, Butterscotch, who died last year, was diabetic near the end and would wait on the end of the bed for his shot and petting. He was very sweet about it for a long time, then decided he did not want the shot any more.
