Monday is the day of the week,
that humorous articles I seek.
To feature humourous potential
in the Gather Writing Essential,
but sadly, the turnout's been quite meek.
Each week I beg for submissions,
that elicit laughter emissions,
as I pick through the pile
(which takes quite a while),
I find fewer and fewer humor compositions.
So this week I beg once again,
for humorous articles Gatherers could send in.
be it verse or it prose,
(is that a radiator hose?)
I'll feature it at the top of the bin.
Now that my limerick has been penned,
feel free to write one my friend.
Though I can't promise money,
I'll feature it if it's funny!
And that's it. Rhyme's over. The end.

I posted one for you at: Grown men don't make mistakes
Should show up in your pile.
Must be a slow and sleepy monday.
I'm quite good at the rhythmic inventing,
But so far it's confusing
As I sit here musing
About where to *place* all of this venting.
Are you looking for funny responses
written full-length by candlelit sconces
and in limerick form?
should they rhyme? that's the norm?
Or would you like complete renaissances?
I'm new here and haven't yet written
Any articles, rants, news hardbitten,
Neither movie review
Nor a corny haiku,
Or cantat'a la Benjamin Britten.
So for now here's my post compliment'ry,
Please consider it my 'naugural entry.
If you found it amusing
And worth your perusing,
Then perhaps I have passed elementary...?
(Now I just have to figure out how to actually post things! Can I post *this* thing and call it an article? ;)
- Gillian who is now official. Maybe.
Drunk Monkey, I'm not sure. I've been lookin' for 'em.
Kathryn, every Monday has been a slow, sleepy Monday. I think we need to change Good Humor Monday into Depressing Poetry Corner Monday. The submission pile is usually chock full of sad poems.
Monday's the only day I get 'round these parts; they take my keys away on the other days (I can't be trusted).
There's no rule saying you can't resubmit an article written on a Wednesday on a Monday, I suppose.
Was a-lost here? Or am I just ghosting?
I'd hoped for a reply
Or at least, "hello! hi!"
But instead, I'm my very own hosting.
I had thought if I posted in rhyme,
I would get a response at some time,
But instead I got lost
No response, my poem tossed,
So alas, I'm cut down in my prime.
Please add this to that pile "chock full of sad poems"... *sniffle*
In the meantime, Chris, thank you so much for your comment on my poker hand photo. It was great to revisit the turn of that particular river.
