I've decided to write a series of articles about how my life has changed since having my daughter. I'm not sure how often I will write them but hopefully they will touching, moving, and lots of what may sound like complaining (maybe it is but we all have to vent sometimes!). Hopefully you will at least be amused!
I think I will start off with language. Before my daughter, I admit that I did not always use the best words (ok I was probably closed to a sailor!). I decided when I got pregnant that I was going to try to cut down before she was born so it would get easier as time went by. I tried to just mutter or not say anything but it didn't really work. I felt a need to actually say a word so I started to make them up. My newest one is (don't laugh too hard!) is "fart knockers". Don't ask me where it came form because I don't know. It just kind of came out and I admit it was fun to say. I have many more that I will not list because I may start to bore you.
Another thing I have caught myself doing is saying that I have to go potty to peepee (even when I am around all adults!). I used to say "I have to the bathroom and pee". As you have probably figured out, my daughter is potty training. All the terms I use for her have somehow ended up in my adult vocabulary.
I'm sure as she grows up, there will be more and more ways my language will change. These are just changes that I wasn't exactly expecting!

Enjoy your time with your daughter. I know everyone says it but it so true, they grow up so fast!
