Frog came down with lice. Well actually LOUSE. One. We only found one in all and a few eggs. Everyone else was clean but we treated w/ the shampoo anyway. Furniture was hosed down with spray, all bedding washed in hot water, mattresses taken outside and sprayed then left several days in the garage, carpets vacced. Close friends called and stuffed toys and dolls washed and/or bagged up for two weeks.
This is our first time dealing with this. Somehow Frog made it to almost 7 and Monkey to almost 10 and going without ever getting lice. There have been several "outbreaks" locally in school and with playgroups but they never managed to get them.
It would make sense that Frog would get them because her hair is usually clean. Blonde, shiny, and bouncy. Lice like clean non-greasy hair so they can hold on. My husband has his head shaved, Monkey unfortunately inherited my "Sicilian" hair (thick, needs to be washed often), but In this case quite fortunately!
