 Consider the source, but none the less.  Maybe there is too much crying of wolf, but who knows.  Even though this is just some people on the internet chattering about attacks.

The threat was picked up by DEBKAfile’s monitors from a rush of electronic chatter on al Qaeda sites Thursday, Aug. 8.

The al Qaeda communications accuse the Americans of the grave error of failing to take seriously the videotape released by the American al Qaeda spokesman Adam Gaddahn last week. “They will soon realize their mistake when American cities are hit by quality operations,” said one message.

Another said the attacks would be carried out “by means of trucks loaded with radio-active material against America’s biggest city and financial nerve center.”

The only problem I have with this whole debacle is that it is causing illegal searches to be conducted throughout the New York area. Al Qaeda is winning; we are losing America.

If think we need to fight these terrorists, and treat them the way they treat all of their victims. I am sick of hearing that we are the terrorists, we torture, we have no right in holding them, if they are suspected of a terrorist act. I am tired of the USA trying to appease everyone, tired of us always saying, we are sorry. I dont feel that we have done anything wrong. These terrorists that are captured have better health care, food, etc. then alot of Americans. They can pray all they want to their God whenever they want, they can have their Koran with them. We need to take a more aggressive approach and forget about their rights or whose feelings we will hurt. We need to get down and dirty.
It is bound to happen. I have never for one moment thought that we were safe from further attacks. It is only a matter of time.

What do the ports have in common? Large container shipping terminals? I've cruised into Miami, and remember seeing all of the containers, I'm pretty sure Long Beach/LA has the same, as does some part of the NY/NJ complex.

Yeah. Those probably never inspected shipping containers go by my place regularly, being hauled on flatbed trucks to wherever they go. NYC is still the country's major port, Marty. I am not amused by the incredibly lax security this country still has. It wouldn't even cost all that much for the Feds to establish what by now, six years after 9/11, should be normal national security. Because the borders are still wide open, we have no idea who's in the country either; just this week an illegal immigrant was indited here for the execution of three college students and shooting of another one in Newark, just across the river in NJ. Terrorists, murderers, any kind of illegal and dangerous contraband in those containers, we're left here as sitting ducks. If it weren't for the NYC police dept. we wouldn't have any kind of security in NYC. Does anyone know how Miami and LA are responding to the possible threat, if at all?
