Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney was in Eagle Grove, Iowa last night.
He held a town hall meeting at the Eagle Grove library. The focus of his meeting was Ask Mitt Anything...so I did.
Mitt Romney in person creates a very good impression. He is very polished and well put together. His issues I had a problem with.
I asked Mr. Romney what his plans were for the war in Iraq. He replied that there have been some very positive developments and indicated staying the course. He could not answer the question that has plagued me...What does winning the war mean?
His stance on illegal immigration I viewed more favorably. He is in support of enforcing the laws that we already have on the books. He also commented that cities that prepose becoming sanctuaries for illegals and not enforcing federal immigration laws should not get federal money.
He also preposes to clean up ethics in our current governement.
The nice thing about Mitt Romney...he didn't back down from my questions. All in all he left me with a favorable impression. The only exception being the war in Iraq.
The other nice thing about Mitt Romney...he brought ice cream.

Not a huge Romney fan, here. But of the availables, he's my man...so far.
Still waiting on Freddy to announce.
Angela I had chocolate.....Blue Bunny.
I like Romney's past accomplishments. He took over the Salt Lake City Olympic committee when it was a mess and turned a profit. He is a Republican in a blue state. However, I think it is unfair when reporters constantly question him about his Mormon religion. Why is the Morman religion fair game but Obama and Islam are off limits?.
The Salt Lake Olympic Committee? Wasn't that the one linked to bribery and other nefarious acts?
But if he gave me a year's supply of French Vanilla, I'd vote for him.
He sounds good.
Then there was his remark about his wife's opinions being irrelevant. After all his wife is an United States citizen; if his wife's opinions are irrelevant where does that leave the opinions of ordinary Americans?
However, I don't honestly believe a Mormon can't be a good leader. Spiritually, they are guided by the same principles as Christians. Morally, they have high standards and believe in conservative core values.
Their belief in heavenly status is not really going to affect their worldly doings....outside of church activities.

He had the field to himself in Iowa and New Hampshire for months, and he is not going to win either state in the early voting.
He tops Hillary Clinton for the number of citizens who dislike him.
