I have seen several articles lately that point out a crime such as child molestation and then point out the fact that the perp was a republican. I have seen just as many articles stating another thing a "crazy liberal" has done.
My question: should political affiliation really make a difference?
Ted Bundy at one time was a shining star in the Young Republican organization. And who can forget the picture of Roselyn Carter standing next to John Wayne Gacy dressed as a clown during a democratic fundraiser.
Focusing on the crime of the individual is by far more productive. Bringing politics into it just clouds the issue and the crime.
I as a democrat don't support the ideals of John Wayne Gacy as I am sure there is not one republican willing to stand in support of Ted Bundy.
My 2 cents.

I feel that we must focus on the individuals and I'm especially am against hypocrisy on both sides. Wrong is wrong.
Brian I agree with you and Dan...wrong is wrong.
Kylee yes.
Have I really been under a rock on this? I've never noted this inanity.
I really like the entertainment aspect of it. The sad thing is that some people are dumb enough to take it seriously.
Nippy amen to that.
Individuals commit crimes, it has nothing to do with their political association.
Politicians, like actors/actresses/artists,
place themselves in the public spotlight.
Then they complain about negative press.
I think a politicians political affiliation is
fair game if they claim to be representing
voters.
is and tries to deceive the public.
The deception must be exposed right away so the fraud
does not go any further.
I rest my case.
My thought would be that political affiliation "should not" make a difference. Whether Democrat or Republican, it's just wrong.
(Eh, thanks for enlightening me - Bundy and Gacy - about those guys. I had no clue.)
if a politician lies, commits fraudulent acts,
does a "Mark Foley" or any number of
heinous acts.
They are public figures and if they
didn't want their political affiliation
known when they commit crimes,
then they shouldn't have run
for office in the first place.
The Republicans started it
when they went after
President Clinton in
a political witch hunt.
