I recently published an article here on Gather concerning the recall of Chinese made toys that contained excessive lead in the paint. The url of the article is http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleId=281474977074593
After going back and reading over that article several times, I now realize that I may have caused a state of panic amoung the parents of Amercan children as well as offending the People's Republic of China and all Chinese people in general.
I now realize that my article reaked of media frenzy. The same kind that keeps parents from allowing their kids to play outside or walk to school. American parents, I offically apologize for that. Actually, the lead content of the paint isn't a problem at all. Here at work, we've been scraping the paint off of the recalled toys and using it as sweetener for our coffee. Also, all of our employees have mixed the lead paint with orange juice and served the coctail to their children. So far..no problems. The lead paint actually tastes better that sugar or artifical sweeteners. American parents, I must apologize. I'm truely sorry that I caused unjustified panic.
I also realize that by pointing out that the recalled toys were made in China, not only have I offended The People's Republic of China, I have also offended the Citizens of The People's Republic of China as well as all of the Chinese people in general. I have also allowed myself and my readers to think of China as one person, one entity and not 1.3 billion Chinese citizens with different thoughts. So now I offer my official apology to The People's Republic of China , all of the 1.3 billion Chinese citizens as well as all Chinese people in general.
It's obvious to me that I'm caught up in an America's#1 mentality without examining it. My attitude is the same as the youth who shouted " Heil Hitler " on the streets of Germany. I realize that by putting the welfare of my fellow U.S. Citizens before the welfare citizens of countries such as Mexico and China, I have developed a Nationalistic attitude..the kind of attitude which brought Hitler and Mao to power. For that, I must apologize. From now on I promise to put the welfare of citizens of other countries above that of my fellow U.S. Citizens.
So here it is..my official apology to the Ameircan parents, The People's Republic of China, the citizens of The People's Republic of China, all of the Chinese people world wide and all of humanity...I only pray that all of ya'll will find room in your hearts to forgive me for my wrong doing.

I'm adding another China thing here that I actually heard on the news and maybe you did, too. There is a company there that makes and exports biscuits. Some kind of Chinese biscuit. They sent an undercover reporter in to see the operation. The owner (Proudly) showed him a vat water full of cardboard. He said flour was too expensive so he was adding the cardboard to the biscuits to save money. When the reporter asked if it was dangerous or if anyone knew about it, his response was, nobody knows the difference." They are trying to shut him down. But I'm sure he'll run off to another area and start all over again. They showed the packages on the shelves in stores here.
I'm glad I don't like Chinese food. :) Just food for thought.
Lynn...Recent studies have shown that adults who consumed Chinese biscuits made from cardboard as children have higher IQ's and they advance farther in their careers that adults who consumed Chinese biscuits made from dough.
Do you notice a tendency to use the "F" word a lot in this comment.....Damn, I'm sorry Tim...Fuck China and,
Fuck'em if they don't like it.....
You're off target also Spartan. No only does China as well as its 1.3 billion ciitzens care about us foremost, The People's Republic of China has an excellent record of caring for its own citizens since 450,000 Chinese citizens die annualy as a result of air pollution.
Tim, I guess I should have chewed on a Chinese biscuit as a kid instead of the carboard from my tablet of paper MADE IN THE USA. Maybe soaking it in Chinese water would've helped my IQ.
Lynn..That woud've probably worked! LOL
Liz.. China owns a good hunk of the U.S. debt..however that's a good thing. How dare you suggest that they aren't our friends! Shame on you! You should now write your own public apology to The People's Republic of China! In fact, I'm ashamed of you!
Spartan...The fact that The People's Republic of China controlls the Panama Canal can only spell good news for the ENTIRE WORLD. These guys care..remember?
I forgive you. It takes a real man to place a communist country above the free people of the U.S. Now sit down and relax and have a lead cocktail and think about maybe sending a check to the PRC as restitution for your bad thoughts!
Damn straight Elsie !
In fact, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the only thing that China is guilty of is caring too much! I'm not wrong, am I?
Ten to Win Big Tim.
In the small town of Ensenada, Baja, California their dredging out the bay area to except those really big container ships from China. See this Url:
http://www.ensenada.com/maps/sat2.html
Here's a picture denoting the size of container ships:
http://www.providence.edu/polisci/students/megaport/ContainerShips.htm
These container ships will leave China and cross the Pacific ocean, with a destination to Ensenada and other deep seaports along the Mexican coast. Also Tim if you look at a map of Mexico and Baja California you'll see the correlation of being able to stop at the large seaports along Mexico proper. To link-up with the NAFTA super highway. Check-out this map:

And one more little tidbit for you is that Rudy Guilliani's law firm is the sole legal consul for the super highway. Check this out:

The above is all one word
Again..I officially apoligize to The People's Republic of China and all 1.3 billion of its citizens, Taiwan ( Republic of China, I'm sure that'll piss of the Taiwanese) and all Chinese people who reside on this great planet.
Very good article, Timothy. And very funny!
Part of the blame, however, lies with the greedy directors of Fisher Price, who elected to move production out of the US and over to China. Didn't they choose China so as to be able to get by doing things on the cheap and without inspections for safety for workers and consumers? But of course, they did it because they care so very deeply about the Chinee, the US workforce, parents and children!
BTW....I'm pretty sure that Spartan, Lynn and Jeff get the satire.
On a good note, I found out that EDD, thats Calif's dept of employment. Has been asking business' to look at their books to find if any of the companies have been giving 1099's ( thats a piece of paper that you give to other companies that do work for you, it shows how much they received from your company, but you don't take any taxes from them). So now the State is going after companies that have been hireing illegals. At least their trying to look like their doing something. I also found out that alot of the unemployed illegals are not only going back to Mexico but are moving to other sanctuary cities to find employment. L.A.'s full, so their sending their compadres to other greener pastures. I hope the idiots that are running those cities finally get to "see" the destruction that is being caused to this country due to this invasion.
