If you pull it over it gets tangled and possibly easy for childen or pets to tear up.Roll under easy to pull down and will only unroll against wall down.
Over the top so it's easier to pull off. But honestly, if my husband could just remember to make sure there's some left in the bathroom that would be awesome....
I hate toilet paper. I don't care if it's under or over, as long as it doesn't somehow (namely my 3 yo son Devin) find it's way into the toilet moments before it is flushed...creating a flood and blowing more money I didn't have in the first place! hahaha
....as long as it's there, I really don't care. Since no one fills it up but me, it's always the way I want it, anyway...and that is usually over the top...because that is how my military precision father wanted it when I was a girl...Guess it stuck. (I refuse to fold socks)
so much easier for under because when my daughter gets out of the tub she always seems to put her hands on the toilet paper and it doesnt roll down to the floor,lol
over - no question. If somebody puts it under I have to change it to over (that's only on that miracle day once a year that anyone else in this house ever replaces an empty roll besides me!) I think I must be a little OCD about this too Heather! LOL
This made me laugh so hard! We were at a family gathering some time ago and there was an argument over this very issue! One wanted it under and the other one wanted it over with the edges turned under so the first square looked like some kind of point!
Personally, I think over is a bit easier but I think the "right" way is whatever works best for that particular household.
I agree Angela! The WORST toilet paper roll situation is when you're in a public restroom and they have the kind that only lets you break off half a square at a time. So you're sitting there bent over in an odd position trying to reach up into the big plastic dispenser to make the roll turn for about 10 minutes until the piece is just long enough to equal one wipe...lol.
I want to modify my last comment to add that it's the worst situation when you actually have toilet paper at your disposal...nothing beats the "no toilet paper at all" situation!
Here's one more vote for over. When it's under, I tend to touch - and in my mind contaminate - the main part of the roll when reaching for the loose end.

Here is a crazy thing-I have never lived in a place that had a toilet paper roll holder. My parents house, my apts. my now home. So I guess either way would be great for me!
However, I hope Sheryl Crow has her neatly folded by her sink so she ca use one little pice at a time. That is what she suggested the world could do to make things better. She said all anyone needed to use was one square. Obviously, she has never been in the throne room with me. :+)
If the toilet paper comes off the roll on the side against the wall then when small children and curious cats come along and paw at the roll the paper rolls up not down! Try it, it works!
Over the top if you have a print and either way with solid. lol If I put it coming from behind my husband changes it. The only time he touches the roll of toilet paper roller. :)
