ps: I am a huge camper....did tons growing up, and took all my 4 kids almost every month when they were little. Two times across country, through most of the National Parks, for weeks at a time. Am looking forward to reading your book!

pss: for their recent b-days, two of my boys got full sets of their own camping gear.....got to pass the torch, eh?

Awesome, Patrick! I bet you have LOADS of stories! :D And indeed, passing on the torch. :) Gotta love it. How wonderful to have sparked the love of camping in your children. My kids are exploding over here. We're leaving tomorrow for four days to go camping at the base of Mt. Hood here in Oregon, hence the shameless contest. :P

I got stuck on Mt Hood during a snow storm with my best bud from college....Dan....that was fun! Only time Ive been snow camping. Have fun with your kids....itsa beautiful place, eh? Can u believe those chains hold the storm shelters down, so they wont blow off the mtn? OMG, we got sooo drunk, cuz we only brought a bottle of Baileys Irish cream and snickers candy bars with us; that we literally leaned out onto the wind at the edge of the mtn, and the continual (thankfully) wind kept us from falling off the Mtn! Literally. Now, don't let your kids do that....drinking is bad for their growth! ;-)
