Shuttle Launch

Today will be an exciting day in history. Second attempt to send the first teacher into space. Let us all pray for here. Here in FL I can see it launch.. from a distance.. but you can see it, the vapor trails and feel the sonic boom! I'd attach pictures.. but it'll be so small.. so suffice it to say.. i'll just enjoy with my daugther and her fiancee whose this launch will be the first!

I was living in Europe when the tragedy happened - the outpouring of sympathy to me from the Europeans was unbelievable, as if I'd known each of the shuttle team members personally. I was truly touched and proud to be an American.

I was home at lunch when the Challenger blew up...I wish we could see the launch from here, but you can't. I wonder if it will be on regular TV this morning.

Last shuttle, I was in Atlanta working for CocaCola corporate. I came back from lunch when everyone was saying 'the shuttle crashed' - for just a few moments I thought it was the Coke shuttle that took us to and from the train station. I soon learned the truth and the horror of it. Here on the ground, we have a chance at survival - in space, we live or die, there is no in between.
I wish them smooth skies and a sturdy craft.
