PERKS AT WORK

Yes, I agree the Google team is very priviledge. I am a stay at home mom, so I guess I have lots of perks.

I would say the best perks at my job are the twice-a-year Team Building days (usually including a free lunch), the Holiday party (on a Harbor Cruise) and the summer outing.

I consider these all one perks, as they are all considered team building events meant to strengthen the work group/environment. They're nice because we get to miss a half or full day of work, include food and sometimes drinks, and it's time to get to know my coworkers.

We also get 50% coverage on Lasik eye surgery. I haven't had it done but cannot wait to do this. I hope they still have the coverage when I am ready to get the Lasik done.

wow!! 6 weeks vacation?? That's fabulous! I don't work... that's the best perk of all!

The Google perks are unrivaled. I don't have any that good.

My cell phone is free.

Where do you work I wanna job there!!!! Best I ever got was two weeks when I worked for the government!! Since then nothing!!! No perks, no fringe benefits, no nothing.

I don't consider it a perk, but I get 7 weeks annual holidays... and, in comparison to some of my colleagues at the Uni on older-style contracts, I feel quite hard done by!
Most UK companies give at least 4 weeks paid holiday per year, plus the usual bank holidays, too.

That's why we can have so many wonderful holidays per year!

I hate the work that I do which is not a perk but all the other perks is what keeps me here...

-I have 3 day weekends (Fri.-Sun.) So when I go to Washington this weekend I will only have to take 5 days off from work but will have 11 days off total.
-I get over $1000 for medical on top of my pay. Anything left over I can put in retirement or stick it on my check which is about $400 more a month ( I should put it in retirement but I need the money right now)
-I get two floating holiday's.
-I got medical and dental right away
-I got two weeks of vacation right away
-And if I do get overtime I can either get that as cash or use it as comp time (meaning vacation).

Right now it's the 4 weeks of vacation each year. Eventually it will be the free tuition for my kids -- if they get admitted to the university I work for they can go for free, or they can get a portion of the tuition if they go somewhere else.

Oh, and I forgot to add we get cost of living raises. Just got one for 4% and I get regular raises so I never have to wonder if they're ever gonna come!

I know, I suck, but the job can be torture because I'm in a room alone doing comuter work all day which I don't like doing and starting at 6:30AM Sucks!

I get 5 weeks vacation, and all the coffee & candy we want.

I am the owner, so any profit is mine. Now can I tell you the bad side? lol

I get a 10% discount on store brand merchandise and groceries,
1 wk vacation after the 1st year, 2wks after my third, and my next milestone is at five years with 3wks vacation

I get four weeks vacation (but it's taken me 22 years to get that) and our 401(k) matches 100% of up to 10% of our pay. I don't think any companies match at that rate any more, and I'm putting away as much as I can so I can retire - that's the ultimate perk!

I work for myself so I guess the best perk I have is a really cool and nice boss!!!!

Other things that we do not consider as perks: We have a good pension scheme and a yearly, union-negotiated salary rise - usually in line with inflation.

We don't have to worry about medical insurance, we have the NHS.

I'm a self-employed recruiter, so I get whatever "perks" I'd like. But, because I am self-employed, they are pretty much unpaid. lol

As a recruiter, I am continually stunned by the perks given at other firms. I have a client here in Cleveland who pays out a HUGE annual bonus (by HUGE, I mean it hasn't dropped below 40% of your annual salary in over 15 years, last year's bonus was 48% and they are projecting this year's to hit 49%) every December. *sigh* I thought I was doing good back in public accounting when I got 25% of my annual salary as my "end of tax season" bonus.

I have other clients who give 2 weeks paid vacation immediately upon hire. Others who have "concierge" service for their employees (basically, they keep a messenger on staff, to run your errands for you.) And another with a fully stocked "game room" (with pinball machine, air hockey table, pool table, Nintendo Wii, plasma screen TV with all the movie/PPV channels, etc.)

Nope, all I get is that I can have as much flexibility and freedom in my schedule as needed (except I don't get paid by clients if I'm not working.)

At the library - no late fees and no charge for DVDs.

I am retired now, but when I was working I got to road four new trucks every day sometime five, I could eat lunch where I wanted to. and I could go out and eat breakfast if i wanted too.

I'm in my 3rd year at my company. I get 3 weeks vacation. 40 hours or 1 week sick time. I also get 3 weeks free resort vacation and a $350.00 vacation expense account. There are many more like 6% matching 401 k after 3 months and fabulous company picnics. I could go on and on and on!

No perks. They just promise not to fire you if they can't find you doing something wrong or contrive a situation to fire you over.

I really like my students.

dang 6 weeks?? can we trade lol.. my work perks are pretty simple.. free sites for family after holidays like fall to late winter, ummmm bonus, hmmm not really too much but its pretty laid back here, my boss is great.. i been here 4 years,, so mabey an extra week of vacation ill ask for,, i get 2 already

I work on a college campus so I would say my perks are: flowers and trees (big shade trees!), students from all over the world, lots of energy/activity, meeting really cool, interesting people from all over the world, making the world a better place.

I'm a temp, I don't get perks!
