TODAY'S TALKER: Giuliani's Daughter......

So who is Presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani's daughter going to vote for? Well it just may not be dear old Dad. According to her own Facebook profile, 17 year old Caroline Giuliani belonged to Democrat Barack Obama's group "Barack Obama: One Million Strong for Obama." Yesterday, Giuliani's daughter left the group after "Slate" magazine sent an inquiry about it.

Caroline is Guiliani's daughter with his second wife Donna Hanover. She just graduated from high school and will attend Harvard University in the fall. Her Facebook profile also lists herself as having liberal political views.

Rudy Giuliani is leading the republican pack in most polls. In the past he has asked for privacy in handling the relationships with his family.

Well I would like to think she wasn't secretly spying for her daddy, so the thought that there exists a daughter who disagrees with her dad should not be a surprise to anybody.

When it comes to kids, especially a seventeen year old, you are a long way from how this person will turn out. Dick Cheney's daughter is a Liberal lesbian. That didn't seem to effect his candidacy.

They don't hold much with me either, Amy. She may disagree with him for so many reasons that have nothing to do with his politics, skills, etc. (does it really matter at all, she can't even vote!)

And really, how many of us didn't rebel a little from our parents views when we were that age? I could say the same things about my dad even now. As a father, he sucks, but as a project manger, he is great.

Maybe the evil "ex" engineered it and then, again, maybe the daughter has experience of her own regarding the kind of policies her daddy would pursue. In and of itself, the daughter's opinion probably wouldn't matter [think of the book Reagan's daughter wrote, though that was 'after' he became president]. Considering though all the other family baggage to go with, it may matter. [It's not like he only has one -- "ex"]. Perhaps he would 'get the hang' of running the country more quickly than he can figure out how to keep a relationship going and engender the respect of his children.

She is a seventeen year old girl trying to form her own opinion about her country and the world, and is looking at ideas other than her own family's. We can only hope she wants to approach her first presidential election somewhat informed-- whether her father is running or not

I can't discard family values when considering a presidenial candidate. Mr. Mayor comes up on he short end of he stick. Although he has had several changes to get it right.
