So all last week I was trying to plan a wonderful weekend in Philly. Well, I really only had to keep myself busy on Saturday since my boyfriend had to work. I was so excited about taking a trip to the Philadelphia Zoo. I was excited to see the monkies and all of the other animals. I was even going to bring a book and sit on a bench ever so often to get some reading done. My boyfriend and I went out for breakfast before we each started our day and it was the moment that I stepped onto the street that I realized it would be wayyyyyyy to hot to be outdoors at the zoo in the sun all day. My next plan of action was to hop from coffee shop to coffee shop with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, eating yummy pastries and drinking coffee all day. I decided against going outdoors at all though and ended up reading in bed all day...well sort of. After 5 pages, I fell asleep and slept until Matt climbed in with me for a nap.
Saturday night was awesome, though. When I was 16 I went to Europe on a teen tour and met this girl Stephanie who turned out to be my best friend on the trip. She was vivacious and fun and outgoing and had such a big personality. We are now 22 and 23 and have not seen one another in 6 years, although we speak fairly frequently. Every year she has a party at her family home in Ocean City, NJ and every year I can never make it for one reason or another. This year, I finally was able to go. It was so much fun and it was so wonderful seeing Stephanie in her true form and being able to chat with her and have fun with her again. Matt also had fun!
Sunday Matt went shopping for air purifiers at Sharper Image and a new printer at Staples which his company bought for him for being the top guy in the country right now as far as new assets to manage. I spent the afternoon reading while he spent the afternoon playing with his new toys. I took a 5:30 Amtrak train from Philly to Penn Station, getting into my town finally at about 7:30PM. It was a great weekend although I wish I would have just dealt with the heat and gone to the zoo. Maybe I'll take a full weekend there again and go to the zoo in the fall when the weather is more bearable.
I know it is Tuesday and I'm a day late because usually this is a Monday topic but...
what did you all do this weekend?

Patricia - Lazy weekend are fabulous aren't they?
Rob - congrats on the money making! It sounds like your trip to PA was a good one! When I was in 3rd grade my mom and I, and another single mom and her daughter all went to Hershey Park and amish country also! Great trip!
Sue - I can't wait to hear about where you decide to go!
Kate - Thank goodness my boyfriend lives there otherwise the chances of me going back there are slim to none!
We really did nothing. Saturday my BF worked like yours and Sunday, well, we are broke so the only thing that we did was go to the grocery store. (Even that trip was stinted by our budget!)
Still anytime we spend together is nice:)
