Between my fibromyalgia and arthritis, getting up in the morning is usually a very slow and painful process. The walk into the bathroom has been complete torture. After walking around for a while the pain will usually ease up to a manageable level.
The other day when I woke up from a nap, I noticed that my hips didn't hurt as much. The difference was that I hadn't rolled onto my back when I was sleeping, which is something I do every night.
I started putting a pillow behind my back at night, and lo and behold, my hips hurt but not excessively.
I went today and bought one of those long body pillows and am looking forward to some much less painful mornings.
Hope this might help some of you with the same issues.

I have met so many people that suffer from this. It is so debilitating.
I put a pillow between my knees, a pillow to hold, a pillow under my head and sometimes a pillow behind me. It keeps me from rolling. Sometimes I put a pillow over my head when I am distressed, a throw back from my childhood. Pillows really do help.
More and more things are fibro though, it is good to get a book on fibro. For me exercise makes it worse...as I can't walk well for days afterwards. My leg muscles are hard as a rock and my whole body can get that way. I don't dare get angry, it is a total body spasm and torture like I was electrocuted. The doctor said it's not from fibro but my hands, fingers, toes and feet contort into positions and stay there and only massage will loosen them back to normal.
I feel for you Sharon, fibro is no fun and as the years go on it seems to get worse.

Talk and Theory are worth nothing. Living pain free? Priceless.
Living with pain is not fun. But you have a wonderful positive attitude, and I bet that makes all the difference. Big hugs to you, honey!
I got off nightshades (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant) and my hips have been better. I've heard that dairy is something else that can cause arthritis pain. I just ate some potato chips so we'll see how I do tomorrow morning.
