Do we really ever know someone? We all show each other different sides of our personalities. There are very few if any that we show all sides of us to. Someone once said to me that no one ever really sees the whole dinosaur. We show some its head, others its right leg, yet others the left leg a few get to see the tail, but no one gets to see the whole shebang, the whole animal if you will. Do we think that no one can handle the whole animal or that they won’t like it? What are the reasons we hide the different parts of ourselves from certain people and not others? If we hide parts of ourselves do we really know who we are? Do we get lost in the battle of what we show and what we hide?
We are constantly changing and reforming ourselves. Can this too be a reason? Are we too afraid that some can’t handle who we really are? Others usually see what they want to see regardless what our words or actions tell them. They laugh things off thinking we can’t really be serious. Ah but little do they know, we are serious.
Do people really only see the face value of things and are so shallow that they don’t look deeper into who we really are.
Then there are those who get angry when they see us for what we are and others see the complete opposite. Do they have more insight into us or are they just paying more attention. Most people are so self absorbed that they don’t even hear you if you are talking about them and you are standing right next to them. It’s either that or they are just ignoring you. I opt for the former rather than the latter. Sometimes we just might be surprised at the outcome when we finally get to see all of the pieces of someone.
