I have had 5 people join Gather in the last week through my link and now I am trying to work out how to redeem my $20 Borders card (I think we will use it towards buying a baby book, so Gather will have helped store my family memories).
My wife asked me a question about Gather and I don't know the answers so I thought I'd ask here.
What earns more points?
Getting people to join using my link ?
or
Posting and commenting?
Not that I am going to stop posting or commenting , but I am just wondering whether once you have the initial 5 people signed up, is it worth carrying on asking people to join?
Do you get points or more points or another $20 gift card?
I know it is worth it as they come into my group of people and can share stuff with me and read what I post, and with the unreliability of email these days it may be better to share all the baby photos and stuff here and then just mail the link.

Answer: No one knows, but don't tell anybody.
It takes 1,565 Points to get a $25.00 Borders gift card. At my rate of posting, it would take me almost a month to get that many points built up. So, it's up to the person as to how hard they want to work at this. So, if you know a lot of people who are willing to join, and if you can get more than one gift card per offer, then it's probably faster to do the invitation thing.
BUT I would suggest getting enough points to order another 10 dollar GC if you dont have a borders store near you. I have to order online and if you spend over 25 you get free shipping, totally worth it!
I will probably use it to buy a more expensive book than I would normally, so that is great as well.
If I invite more people and they join under me then they are more likely to read my mad musings, comment on them and maybe vote for me so that is worth it in itself isnt it?
I will try and get my mum to join (at 67 she is now showing my 74 year old aunt how to use the "computer thingy') as she would love all this stuff..
