Game: Best Birthday Present

Since I'm in a birthday mood this weekend :-) 

 What is the best birthday present you've ever received?

 I'll start -- Although I have received fancier gifts I must say that the pictures and cards my kids made for me yesterday at school were better then almost anything else.  They were so excited to give them to me and it was very sweet :-)  Although the digital camera my husband gave me last year was really neat also :-)

I have to agree, I've received lots of cool gadgets and toys for presents for my birthday, but the best were all the different cards my kids gave me, always made by hand and so much more personal,,,this year they could make me tukey dinner,,,gobble, gobble gobble!

I can tell you the worst. When my exhusband took me to the opera after a hard day at work and I fell asleep.

The best was the TV my daughters gave me a few years ago.

I've gotten some good gifts but the one that will always stick in my head is my brother Jerry. He was born on my 5th birthday! He's the best gift.

A homemade card made by my children. Each had signed it.
I don't know if this was the BEST present I ever got for my birthday, but the most surprising present had to be the time my kids took some money down the street to a yard sale and came back with a "stash box" (No, I'm not kidding!) shaped like a frog!
Wait, I think maybe that was for Mother's Day. It was still pretty strange! :-)

for the entire day
we would do
WHATEVER I WANTED!!
and even though we didn't do
anything big or impressive
or even anything that cost alot of money,

I dated a guy when I was in 10th grade and he didn't have much money to buy me a present so he gave me one of his dog's puppies that had just been born a few weeks earlier. The dog was a dauchsund and she was a part of my life and very much loved for about 18 years. The boyfriend and I broke up a few months later but the dog remained in my life forever.
