most other things, although I might regret them (as in exhusband) ... wouldn't go back and change them because it would change too many other things... can't imagine life without my kids, for example...and I'm very happy where I am.
I have softened it up a bit. Now it is never to have regrets, everything is a learning experience.
Honestly, the only things that I look back on with a sad note are the things that I didn't try or didn't go for because I was afraid of the consequences. For me, it is the "what if's" that keep me up at night, so I usually go for it and darn the consequences!
I tried Portuguese when we lived in Lisbon ... sadly I can only order beer and train tickets (both highly important I might add).
I'm trying Spanish with all the tapes and stuff. But I never seem to find the time to get into the learning mode. I'll listen, practice, say a few words--- then go days or weeks before picking it up again.
I regret something I had no control over anyway, having a mother that didn't want me or would tell me who my father was. or if he even knew I was born.
I'm something of a late bloomer - NOW I want to have a good career, and go places and see things, but I've had decades of clerical jobs so I don't really have the money or opportunity to do the things I want to do.
