Jim, this quatrain is very touching; how good of you to allow the reader to KNOW what precious being it is written about. ( Each one of us having our own beloved being in our live) The way this poem swings along on its rythum is very moving. "Left with the sense of you." ties it up so well, like the scent of purfume left in the room after That One has moved on....

Thanks, Pat. In this case, the spaces are the reason I published the poem with only one stanza. So much of our lives are governed by them; they're universal--but they're personal; spaces for each of us to sense in our own way.
