Price of movie tickets

There's three movies out I really want to go see. Around here, it's very expensive even if you to the matinee. And then if you want popcorn or a drink...four dollars for a bottle of water! So do you pay the price to see a movie in the theater or wait until it comes out on DVD? Nine dollars is a lot for a ticket and if you take the entire family you could almost buy a TV. So how much are you paying and do you even go to the movies?

we pay anywhere from $8.50-$9.00. I usually don't go to the theater unless it's something I really want to see on the big screen. But we have what we call "cheap seats" theaters that show movies after they have been at the regular theaters for a while, but before they are out on DVD. They only cost about $3, but the concessions are just as expensive!

I try to wait for the dvd. It is very hard for me to sit through an entire movie without a break.

And yes, it is rediculous. You need to carry a big purse and bring your own snacks!
We have a theater near us that's not up-to-date on seating, doesn't offer thrills and chills via updated projectors, but children & seniors are only $3 all the time, and matinee's for adults are only $3, and $6 after 6pm. They show movies when they come out, too, instead of waiting a month or two when they are not new.

Most the other theaters are around $6.00 for matinee's, and $8 for evening shows, $12.50 for the IMAX movies.

we used that Nexflex,, cost us 5.00 a month to rent 2 movie a month, during the summer and no rush to return, being in small town, closest rental place with upto date movies is about 15 miles away
We live in a small town with no theaters at all, but about 17 miles from here there is a nice little Cinemark discount theater where matinee seats are only $4 for adults (or maybe that's $4.50, I forget.). But I have to confess to the same habit as the other Angela. I have a giant "old lady purse" that always accomanies me to the theater with a Pepsi and some chocolate hidden within. Have to buy popcorn there, though. Just gotta have popcorn at the movies! With way too much chemical sludge! Yummy!

If I go to the movies I go to the $4.50 matinee at a theater near me. Mostly, though, I get movies from our library. Pretty decent selection, I like mostly independent films, and the price is right!

The more expensive theater here has lowered its prices to $4 before 6 p.m. and $6 after 6 p.m. On Wednesdays all day and evening senior citizens get in for $3.50. If we go to a movie, we don't buy any food or drinks as they aren't worth the high prices. The theater in the mall is cheaper, about $2 or so a person. I usually only go to a movie when I have a free pass. (Yeah, I'm cheap.)

I used to go more now though with prices being raised once in a few motnh
