Midnight Angst

As I wander through the night

Many thoughts go through my mind

Do you think I said too little

What they said, is it a sign?

Conversation tapes run wild

Past and present troubles too.

The clock chimes it's twelve o'clock

Before I have thought it through.

I can't solve human puzzles

Who did what, when where and why.

We think we know the answers

Doesn't stop us from a cry.

I know when morning arrives

And I haven't had my sleep

The phone will ring off the hook

Again the well will run deep.

I hate it when all the little voices of the day, sometimes the week, keep me from sleeping. The hot nights don't help either. I finally slept from 8 til just after midnight last night...Love your poems Heather. Always 10's from me!
