As hard as it sometimes is to admit, that are times when Mother really DOES know best. So what was the best piece of advice you ever got from your mom?
This hurts me more than it does you. ,,,,,,,I thought she just like to spank me. But the first time I had to spank my children for misbehaving I knew what she meant. It really did hurt me worse. But I never let them see me cry when they cried.
It's not really advice, but one of the things my mother used to do (that drove me crazy as a kid, but worked every time) was to sing at the top of her lungs to wake us up. Of course, her singing left a little to be desired, but it had the desired effect on us.
Mom also used to tell me to treat others the way I wanted to be treated... which I do. But man, somedays I look around and think, "Mom, you never knew so many people wanted to be treated like crap!"
