The Minnesota bridge on I-35 West

My sympathy goes out
to the families of the victims
It makes me want to shout
All those lives injured or dead

For, in the year of 2005
the bridge was declared unsafe
Those victims would've been alive
instead of injured or dead

If they had listened to the report
and fixed the bridge sooner
there wouldn't be victims on life-support
and lives wouldn't be ruined or destroyed

A construction worker
isn't suppose to fly in the air
with cars, trucks, and metal girder
with a school bus crashing

This one, makes me want to cry
victims trapped, crushed but alive
told rescue workers to say hello and goodbye
to all of their friends and family

The next one,causes great distress
For, It hits too close to home
I work for Wonder/ Hostess
God, Please take really good care of him

A 51 year old driver for Sara Lee
You saw his semi cab burning
on local and national tv
He was one of the lives taken by the bridge

For, the ones not mentioned
all will be greatly missed
A lot of tears will be shed
I pray that every body will be found

We lost some of the best
on the Minnesota Bridge
on I-35 West
God will take good care of them now 

Some were just going home
from a hard day of work
Some were going to the Metrodome
to watch the Twins play ball

Try to imagine the fear
they were feeling
for their car, they couldn't stear
and they knew they could die

Falling from way on top
of the bridge that was collapsing
into the dirty river below, which made them stop
being trapped in their car and drowning

Not even able to say goodbye
to family and friends
as they all headed for the sky
Pray and say the Rosary for the victims of the bridge

Just this morning a large tear
dropped from my eye
For, there are more, I fear
still not found, dead, but in the sky

The true heros of this disaster
are the rescue workers and Navy Divers
For, they listen to their headmaster
to save the living and return the dead
