In less than 6 days I will be going on the second part of the summer trips. I wish I could have combined them , but since my daughter is in the Navy, it is not so easy to do. I am first going back to Gettysburg, I will be staying in the town and then in a campground. This is the part of the trip I am looking forward to! I love Gettysburg.
Then we begin the descent to Mississippi!
Since I have some medical issues driving has become hard, so now I break it up alot! We will be stopping in VA- I will hit some battlefields. Next stop GA- hopefully we will get to explore that town. From there we will go straight to Gulfport, I am going to stay in a hotel in Biloxi for a day or two- since my daughter will be just getting home from deployment- it will give her a little space before hitting her apartment. Last year I just would have gone there, but this year..I am meeting the future in-laws! We are all going to be staying in her apartment along with her boyfriend. I already warned her..no hanky - panky while I am there!! I don't care if they have not seen each other in 6 months(hence why I am staying in the hotel for the first 2 days)- yucky...what mother wants to hear that stuff!!
To make things a little easier , me and my daughters are going to drive over to LA and hit St Francisville- hopefully get to visit The Mrytles & New Orleans(my paranormal side!). Since her boyfriend hasn't seen his mother in 6 months also- it will give both of them some alone time with their families...also do you know how crowded this apartment is going to be! Thankfully, the way I have planned things we should only have about 2 days of super crowding.
All in all, I will start heading back north on Aug 21st and should be home on the 23rd. Sightseeing along the way.
This should be my last trip to MS!! She has requested a transfer to VA!! Her boyfriend has already been approved and will be leaving in Oct- she in Jan....whooo-hooo...it will only take me less than a day to get to her!!..I wish she was there now!! I will be able to see them a few times a year when she gets to VA...and I will also get to hit up Williamsburg and do more exploring!! (attn ghost hunters... have gotten some cool pictures of the Peyton Randolph house at night!!)

GOOD MORNING DONNA!!
Mary...thanks
Thanks Jennifer, yeah the youngest has actually had the most time alone with me and has gone the furthest. I always tell her that one day she will remember these days and will stories to her children.
As for Salem, my friends and I get to go away every year on my birthday weekend. We have gone there many times before, it really isn't that expensive when everyone is helping with the gas and tolls. When I was younger I never thought I would travel, I had no money. But I found that if you lower your sleeping arrangements it is possible. I have stayed in campgrounds etc. and I got to see the Eastern seaboard!
