I just did an article on Mattel toys having lead based paint. I'm checking out my house. Nothing from China will exist in my home, anymore.

Yes there is a lot of merchandise coming out of china that has lead paint on them, it affected my gift business, but my supplier has assured me that they are no longer offerring those products....only trust made in the U.S.A.!

There have been a lot of recalls recently. Not too long ago, we had to get rid of all of my son's Thomas the Tank Engine toys because of lead paint scares too!

so if China isn't running slave factories, who is it that keeps sending us these types of signals?

Oh, that's right.... after international pressure, China cracked down and rescued 380 slaves from factories. Great haul out of a nation of billions.

Thanks for the info- it's a scary thought how MUCH stuff could be contaminated. I'm waiting on a toothbrush recall- maybe for arsenic being on the bristles...

We had at least ten toy sets fro the list, luckily the recall only spanned what was bought from May 2007 on so that narrowed it down to 4 possible sets....they were all those little rubbery figurines

I am so disgusted that big toy companies making millions of dollars will still outsource their toy production out of the country when it's so much harder to know the quality of the product. Spend more money to have it made where you know you can keep an eye on the quality. These are toys for our children!!!! Thank goodness my daughter doesn't have any of these toys, but I feel awful thinking that we can't even keep them safe from their toys! Thanks for passing this around.

I first heard this from Tim V a couple of weeks ago, It seems the recall has expanded. Scary! I am happy that my son is not really into the sesame street gang.
