Bananas are great when black and over ripe. Just freeze them in their skins. When you are in the mood for ice cream, take it out of the freezer and whip it up with milk, a tbs. of milk powder, and a tsp. of vanilla. It's awesome. And, if you want great banana bread or muffins, these bananas will be so sweet when defrosted.
As for mellon, don't throw them out. Just when they are the ripest, whip in your blender for a great healthy sweet drink.
