Today July 30, 2007 is Sarina d.(elusivebutterfly) , as the custom goes, Sarina has prepared a little celebration of her life for us to share on her birthday with her. Here is her story.
I am married to a guy I met on the internet. We will be celebrating our 9th anniversary on October 10th. This is my second marriage. I have 4 children ages 28, 27, 23, 23. I have 6 grandkids. They bring me so much joy. I live in New England and have lived here all of my life.
I am currently employed by a non-profit organization as a Personal Care Attendant. One of the most enjoyable jobs I have had is is being Mastectomy Fitter. I worked as a secretary at a local elementary school and at the local high school. Other jobs have included working at Dunkin' Donuts, folding plastic bags (yes, I was a bag lady), short order cook, cashier, and telephone solicitor (rough job).
I do not write professionally. I enjoy putting my thoughts into words. Being at Gather has helped me to open up and hone my writing skills.
My Life's struggles inspired me. Writing is a way to vent.
I enjoy knitting, crocheting, cooking and baking, and also do a variety of craft work projects such as wreaths, jewelry, sewing, etc.
One of my all time favorite things to do is walk the beach. There is nothing more therapeutic than being at the beach, listening to the sound of the waves, feeling the sun on your face, or the snow in the winter.
One of the quirkiest of my pet peeves is seeing a twisted phone cord, it annoys the heck out of me and I have to undo it! Another is People who have to pull out in front of you and leave you little time to react.
We need to be concerned about the future of Mother Earth. Our children and children's children are counting on us.
Each time I gave birth to one of my children I felt closer to God. You pray throughout your pregancy for a healthy baby, I was thankful that each baby was born without health concerns.
I would like to learn to read music and play an instrument. It was something that I always long to do. When I was younger, I tried to teach myself to play the guitar. Maybe one day I will. But, first, I will need to be able to read music. Maybe with the help of my daughter, who is a music major, this will be done.
I love hosting a surprise birthday party. For my mother's 65th birthday I hosted a party at my house. I was able to get one of her dear friends to come without her knowledge. That was a good day.
What is most important to me is my children. Having them be able to become healthier people would be the only wish I can think of. You cannot control what happens in their lives. You just pray that life will get better for them.

One of my favorite songs is The Elusive Butterfly of Love by Bob Lind. If Janelle could find that one for me I would appreciate it.
Happy birthday Sarina from all your friends at gather, we hope we have made your day a memorial one.
Note to the birthday club members. If you have not yet submitted your birthday dates to me please to so. I need to prepare well enough in advance. Furthemore, when I send you the questions to do your celebration I need to have them back, at least one day prior to your birthday.
