how very strange!
Last night my friend Sue came over and brought the tape of the Leacock Festival television show in which I participated. We didn't watch it right away - had to sit outside and watch the sunset, and then the bats, first... but eventually we came inside and threw it in the VCR.
I did not look anywhere near as nervous - or as fat, for that matter - as I was afraid I would.
My prof, during his interview, talked about me - by name! - and said nice things about me (although I could, if I were inclined, nitpick about his accuracy - but hubby says to not go there; when someone says nice things about you, you are to shut up and say thank you; not correct them)
And when it was my turn to be interviewed, I did ok. Even the verbal stumble - when I said something wrong and then corrected myself - didn't seem half as bad as I thought it would. I doubt - now that I've seen it - that most people would even notice it ...and if they did, they probably wouldn't think much of it (in other words, I did not look anywhere near as stOOpid as I thought LOL)
Later, towards the end of the show, I sat on a bench and read French Fries (which still needs votes, btw!). I have read the story at readings a few times - and I think I get better at it every time. It wasn't a perfect reading - and I should have stood - I looked much better standing than sitting LOL - but it was okay. And it is very interesting to sit on the other side and hear me read.
Afterwards, hubby & Sue both said nice things about how I did. I am, sometimes, a slow learner. I was inclined to point out .... but eventually, I did get the message. So - I shut up and said thank you.
