This is a verbatim copy-and-paste from a forwarded email (I've added the link so you can see more details). I wish I had time for this one – it sounds so fun! (btw, this appears to be a genuinely international event)
Elevate Festival of Film and Music is the first 48 hour film festival to produce inspiring, consciousness raising films. We are accepting submissions for 5-10 page scripts that are in alignment with our intention, to ELEVATE through film. These films will be made in 48 hours and premiere at the KODAK Theatre Sept 15th 2007. We want stories that are real, compelling, and make people think.
Some films we consider consciousness raising are American Beauty, The Matrix, What the Bleep?, Illusion, and the Peaceful Warrior. We are open to all styles such as comedies, dramas, even action. Think short fable with a powerful message. But please be mindful that the filmmakers only have 48 hours and little to no budget so these can't be high concept films. If your script is chosen, it will be cast, assigned to a professional director who will make it in 48 hours and then it will premiere at the Kodak Theatre.
Please go to elevatefestival.com for submission details. You must fill out all appropriate forms on-line for your submission to be accepted. There is no fee. Filming begins Sept. 7th. Deadline for submissions is August 26th. We are open to submissions from all countries.
