Who is Marinela?

I have noticed by reading the comments on my articles and from the mails sent to me that many people in Gather have built up an image of me similar with "Mother Teresa" which may not reflect entirely what I am really like.

I am not at all a Mother Teresa - the Lord of Love and Light cannot accept sacrifice because sacrifice and deprivation are the opposite of love. God's will for everyone and me is total freedom and unconditional love - neither of which we can have if we are fearful or believe that we must sacrifice. I know that I have to follow my own star, wherever that may lead me. Locking oneself away as a nun or monk suits only a very small percentage of people - I would find it suffocating. I have to be free as the wind, the water, the birds, the sea etc., in order to experience the truth that this instant and every instant is a new beginning. The essence of my journey through this world is to always walk side by side with others but never leading or following.
Only in this way I can indeed go with the flow of life and enjoy the liberating journey, as we are all meant to.

I love astrology and other esoteric, mystery, or divination resources when it's used for its higher potentials to guide a soul to right path and right focus, like a light. I like the thought of focusing my services and help in my writing, speaking, and working with healers or others who are really planting the 'Aquarian Age' way of doing things. We'll see where it all leads me. It's an unfolding mystery.

I am a very simple person who just like you I have my share of problems, difficult moments, health problems and much more. I love going to a tavern from time to time and especially in summer. I do not like posh restaurants and do prefer small taverns on the beach. I love to feel the sand under my feet and hear the murmur of the sea. I use to take off my shoes and feel grounded, diving my feet in the sand, enjoying a glass of retsina wine and feeling respect for the gift of nature and of being in the company of good friends.
I like to come back home from swimming without wearing my sandals, and some people stare at me! Ha! I like to be me and do not project a different image just to please others.

There are many things that make me happy:
A quiet evening with cool breeze blowing in my face
I enjoy my cigarette and just be me;
I laugh a lot
I cry sometimes
Good intelligent brain-stimulating company
An instant smile by a person I have never met
Things done on impulse
Meditate at sunrise and before going to sleep (after midnight)
A long walk (almost every day on the beach)
A visit by a friend who is comfortable with the way I am
A hug by any one
Visiting new places, meeting unknown people, listening to their stories...
My husband and my daughter
My work as a teacher
My other work as an astrologer and spiritual councilor
Working with healing energy
Helping others as much as I can
And much more...


I learned that my worth doesn't only depend on how much money I make and how much I buy for others. During the last years I have had an increased sense of what I actually want and need, and it's so much less than what our culture hypnotizes people into thinking they want! The simplicity of it is lovely, really, and I often focus more on qualities rather than quantities -- joy, color, beauty, love, kindness, grace, creativity, and generosity. Those have become my new 'wealth' and the Pearls of truly great price.

There are occasions when I need quiet times - to recharge my batteries, so to speak; and to reflect. This is the reason I am not sometimes in any of the work nets I am part of. I often take stock in order to unblock and go with the flow of things. Even with my web site, nets I am a member of etc, I only write, post, wander if I feel called to it or if I'm responding to an inquiry. Something has to really compel me, and then it's easy to do. Otherwise, my energy just doesn't want to go there.

I loved your website Marinela. I was pretty sure of your spirit, but as you have said at the website, every spirit has its own human calling along the journey, so your words were inspiring to me. You have a very special gift with words.

As to the astrology, I don't really understand the map very well, although I have tried to study. I was given a chart of the heavens as they appeared at the time of my birth, but was not given any meaningful interpretation because I had not the money to pay for that. I'd love to have it interpretted, but I have a feeling I am being guided even without the knowledge of that map, so I don't worry so much about it.

But I will tell you, it's nice to see someone whose heart is in it for the spirit aspect. You truly do have the loving heart of Mother Teresa, caring for humanity. And you're quite humble as well. Thanks for this view of you, Marinela.

Nana -- it is nice indeed to know about the other members in here. Being a huge family in gather we all like to know who the other one is. Maybe I will write more about me some other time. Right now I just wanted to shed the light that I am a very simple person. I do not count my worth in terms of diplomas ( I have a degree in English and French Literature), but this doesn't mean that I am different from the others. I feel blessed to be able to communicate, read and write in 5 languages. This gives me the possibility to be in touch with people from all over the world.

Rosa -- First I want to thank you and then I want to tell you that astrology for me is exactly the way I have describe it in my site. A natal chart is done once in a life. Nobody needs to ask again because this is the map for your whole life.
From my 28 years experience , I can say that it helps a person who is ready to get the help. It can show you what kind of person you are and what the map shows. It helps one step in life with a solid guidance and make the best of the journey.
I agree that we are guided, but there are times when we do not hear the small voice telling us which is the right way.

I was also a palmist in my university days but i quit, because of people asking questions about themselves, they did not even look at the situation, all they wanted to know future and what they did in past. lol
Well, now I rarely read hands, if someone insists or refered by a friend.
Anyway, life is what man can struggle and achieve by himself, he can change the future and make his own path as he likes.
Destiny is something that we believe is writen. Forecasting one's destiny sometimes draws negative impression on person's life.
Well, it is an art, though, we should learn lesson from the politicians and today's management institutes.

If what I read or hear doesn't get through my own level of understanding and become my truth after practicing for a while, then it is not the whole truth for me. I don't look upon anyone as a "Mother Teresa," not even Mother Teresa, but there are some people you feel a connection to — a bond — almost instantly, and without knowing why. I like what you have written and the sharing of your spirit. There are many things that make you happy that make me happy as well, but not all and that is what makes friendships interesting. I like the sound of birds in the distance, I smoked for 30 years and regret giving up the cigarettes until I can't catch my breath, I cry too much and I don't laugh enough, I give instant smiles to most people and get many also, I couldn't be more impulsive and get into trouble with it sometimes ; ) on my 2-hour commute I see many sunrises and sunsets and they are all magnificent in their own way, I would take a long walk on the beach if I lived near enough to one because nothing compares to the feel of the sand on my bare feet, and yes, hugs are very good, I love my family even though my mother has dementia and doesn't know the difference anymore, and much more...
