It used to be that when I was all caught up with reading the articles my connections had posted (at least those that are obviously not games & such), I'd wander off and go through a page or two of the recently posted articles.  That is, of course, where once upon a time, I found many great new connections.

So ... since I am procrastinating and avoiding my essay at the moment, I thought I'd do that. Yikes! When did Gather open itself up as a marketplace? I ~get~ the ads that Gather serves up - but what is with the spam and thinly disguised marketing out there?

Although I must confess I did find a few such articles that amused me somewhat! Think I should consider hiring her? Oi!

Well flit, gather is a place to share. I see we both use the same method to find new and exciting things to read. I have found many new connections this way also.

I went out for lunch with Celine... then we came back here; she left around 5... have got a little bit done since, but not enough.

Wonder if the delete connections glitch has been fixed? Suppose I shall soon find out :)

Got to Gather Ernie, it is necessary, and how could I have met you without it HMMMM? Flit, I joind the Market Place because of the sharing, I think if everyone sticks with the basics it may prove helpful, we'll see, you know I respect your ideas and the article tho'. I believe "Gather" has too many "classy" people on it to let this get commercial, Ellen B

is that a group? haven't been there.... although now that you mention it, I do think i saw a group invite .......was commenting more on the number of new-ish members whose articles are just advertisements .... they seem pretty consistent in that none of them have ever posted a comment or anything; they just post ads.

I noticed that also Flit, a lot of advertising from the newer people. When you get your gather glitch fixed don't delete me or I will post so many advertisements you will be forced to reconnect.. I hope you had a fun day.

I'm enjoying it...right now, sitting outside on my deck watching the water and the beginnings of the sunset.... kingfisher is hanging out ...just waiting for the cranes to show up.

way more fun than working on my Walcott essay!

Flit: glitch has not been fixed yet. Got one of my own I wish to unconnect with and can't yet.
Went on a tour of other writers.... find it difficult to believe some folks would consider some options to ~enhance~ their educational experience.

Hope it's not me, I really like you guys. ( boo hoo, sniffle.) I haven't run into any ad things yet but I haven"t done that much searching. Mostly I go look at what you guys post to and post to those as well, I guess you could call me a copy cat, but at least I think I picked good models. ( is that enough sucking up to stay on your good side???)

I saw quite a few ads lately also...I enjoy going through the photos and looking at them.
I still can't delete and I'm getting ticked. If they don't fix it soon, I'm calling upon my ancestors to give a rounding "bushy-bushy" curse to the PTB.

There are ads here? I've never looked at one.

I know what you mean, Flit. It is so easy to get sidetracked reading the articles and checking out the photos. There are a lot of terrific writers and photographers here on gather!

I'm fairly new to Gather, and it's already becoming a new obsession. But the good news is that after Gathering far too long, I go into aerobic mode with my housecleaning! lol

I love to Gather too, but I haven't been doing as much as I like. I have been feeling guilty for being such a spud. I still don't get much done, but at least it looks like I am trying. LOL
