Some of you may have wondered where I've been for the past 86 days. Well, the truth is I have become addicted to a computer game called Secrets of War (SOW). I know it sounds silly. I have had friends and family members completely taken over by a game before. I never thought it could happen to me.
I have been spending anywhere from 12 to 20 hours a day playing it. I get irritated if I have to stop to go the the bathroom. If I need to make a cup of coffee I get so infuriated at the microwave for taking so long. My friend overheard me yelling at it "Hurry up, damn it!"
That's when Brenda sat me down and told me that I have become totally obsessed with SOW and that I need to get back to my writing. She and everyone else I know are sick to death of hearing about it. It's become so bad that I have even stopped strangers on the street to tell them about this game.
The first step is to admit you have a problem, right? Okay, I admit it, I have a problem. I have limited my playing SOW to four hours a day. I hate to admit this but I'm starting to feel better already.
Hopefully I can now spend more time writing. I already have an article in the works about an extraordinary man named Rick Gordon, who used to work for Elvis. He had some very interesting stories to tell about his time working at Graceland and the many adventures he shared with Elvis.
I am sad to say that it's been one month today that we got a call from the coroner in Denver, telling us that Rick Gordon had been found dead in the back of his truck. He apparently had died in his sleep. I feel very fortunate to have known him and I am so glad that I interviewed him when I did.

Welcome back and looking forward to your articles about Rick Gordon.

I'll stick to chess and solitaire.
