I Finally Got Stuck With It.

I think I set a new record for the Happy Clappy Birthday song .  ANd last evening I finally got stuck with wearing the sombrero. 

I think 4 times for the birthday song in one year is quite enough.  The first was at Bennigan's.  I wasn't expecting it becasue I have lunched at Bennigan's on my birthday the last two years and did not have this performed for me. 

Then I was sung to at the Olive Garden.  Yeah, My kids had something to do with that.

It wasn't even my birthday....yet.  So the morning of my birthday I went to the IHOP for my favorite breakfast, never dreaming that IHOP also has a birthday celebration.  You guessed it.  Song number 3.

I figured I was done with it.  My GF and I took her son out to El Dorado last evening for HIS birthday supper.  Those Mexican places always bring out the sombrero and I was thinking what fun to see him get to wear it.  Well, they had 2 of the darn things and I got one plunked on my head too and you guessed it.  Once again that clappy Happy Birthday song. 

 One good thing was free ice cream at all of the places except Olive Garden.  The BEST thing was having friends and family with me to celebrate.

I'm kind of tired of that song though!

Around the time of my sister's birthday, she starts threatening the family. She hates having people in restaurants sing to her, but one of us is always sneaky and tells the waiter... hehe.

4 times is quite impressive, though!

LOL I can understand why you would be tired of it. We took my brother to a restaurant for his birthday once and they put one of those Mr. Coffee type of coffee filters on his head as a hat. It was hilarious! Did you know that Red Lobster does not do the Happy Clappy Birthday song any more? I took my daughter there for her birthday and the server told us that they couldn't sing because some idiot had sued them for humiliating him/her and their corporate office put the nix on further singing. Is that ridiculous or what??? sheesh, some people.

happy birthday audrey.. My wife signed us up for a freemeal and several place, NO Hat but the do sing happy birthday. It is one of those places where the birthday person get a freemeal when some one else buys a meal..

I used to do that to my hubby all the time. Then he retaliated by hiring some guy to show up dressed as the Grim Reaper for my 30th. Never did that to him again by golly!
